Agenda for Wednesday, August 6th: First Day of School for Select Grade Levels
- 7:30 a.m. – Gates open. Parents are invited to walk their child to their classroom. Administrators will be stationed at the entrance of each building to help guide you. Students will remain in their classrooms as this marks their first official day of school.
- 9:00 a.m. – Parents of students in other grade levels are invited to join us in the CDS Theater for a general welcome from our Director, Mr. Young.
- 9:30 a.m. – Families will be dismissed to visit classrooms, meet the teachers, and enjoy a casual “meet and greet” experience.
Light refreshments will be served in the Pavilion.
Thursday, August 7th: Classes begin for all students.
Important General Information

- Please complete the Health Information & Authorization Form. One form per child will be needed.
- To help us maintain accurate records and communicate effectively, please complete the following form if your family has recently moved to Costa Rica. This information will be used for school communications and emergency contact purposes - New Families Contact Information Update Form
- During July or beginning of August, you will be receiving an email from our Buddy Family Program, so please be sure to check your Inbox and Spam folder.
- Below you can find more information about bus transportation, uniforms and cafeteria service.
Pending Documents
- If you have not submitted the following documents, please send these by email to Morin Granados at lorraine.granados@cds.ed.cr
- Your child's 2nd semester grades or end of year report
- If you have not submitted your passport size picture for the parent school ID, you may send the picture to cds_admissions@cds.ed.cr. You may also take the picture at school when you visit.
- All students must submit a copy of their Costa Rica minor's identification card (Costa Rican Nationals) or DIMEX (legal residency permit for foreigners).

Bus Transportation
If your child will require school bus transportation for the upcoming school year, please contact our Transportation Coordinator at cds_transportation@cds.ed.cr to make the necessary arrangements.
Opening a Cafeteria Account
Cafeteria service at CDS is an optional service that is paid separately from other school fees. To open an account or add funds to your child's cafeteria account, please follow these steps:
- Step 1: Transfer the Funds
- Send your payment via bank transfer or SINPE Móvil to the school’s cafeteria account.

- Step 2: Notify the Business Office
- Once the transfer is complete, email the Business Office at cds_businessoffice@cds.ed.cr with the following information:
- Subject: Creation of Cafeteria Account
- Student Name(s): Include the full name(s) of the student(s)
- Payment Voucher: Attach the transfer or SINPE receipt
- Step 3: Confirmation
- The cafeteria team will confirm receipt of the payment.
For Secondary Students
