A solemn Graduation Ceremony 2024 of British Vietnamese International School in Ho Chi Minh City

The graduation ceremony of the British Vietnamese International School (BVIS) in Ho Chi Minh City was held solemnly at the Intercontinental Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City, on Saturday, June 15, 2024. The event was attended by students, teachers, families, and guests.

One of the highlights of the event was the moment when the graduates entered the hall in their formal graduation attire. Their confident and mature steps moved both their families and teachers, filling them with pride and emotion. 

Mr. Linh, parent of Linh Vinh (Jimmy), a student who has been with BVIS since its inaugural year in 2011, shared, “Over the past 10 years, our family has always trusted the enthusiasm and dedication of the school’s teaching staff. The values BVIS has nurtured will be invaluable as he steps into his future, especially at his dream school next year, the University of Toronto, Canada.”

With 75 dynamic and outstanding members, this year's graduating class is the largest cohort since BVIS was officially established in 2011. During the recent university application season, our students confidently secured 125 acceptance letters from universities worldwide, including prestigious groups such as the Ivy League, Russell Group, and Group of Eight. This year's acceptance list includes renowned universities from many countries, such as the University of Pennsylvania, New York University, the University of California-Irvine, Imperial College London, King's College London, and the University of Toronto. Notably, the total value of scholarships awarded to the Class of 2024 exceeds 3 million USD, equivalent to 76.5 billion VND. 

In 2024, one in two BVIS graduates was accepted into a top 50 world university. As in previous years, the UK, USA, Canada, and Australia continue to be popular overseas destinations for students. 

According to Mr. Simon Higham, Principal, a key factor contributing to the exceptional success of the Class of 2024 is the International A-Level programme, which offers a wide range of subjects and flexible choices, allowing students to pursue their strengths, interests, and academic passions freely. 

Speaking at the event, Mr. Simon noted that this year's impressive achievements result from each student’s hard work and the school and family’s efforts to provide the best learning experiences and opportunities, helping students maximize their university acceptance chances with a strong academic foundation and diverse extracurricular projects. 

Representing the Class of 2024, Phuong Nghi and Khanh Linh, Presidents of the Student Council, shared in their graduation speech, “As we stand at the threshold of the next chapter in our lives, we must acknowledge that change is inevitable. But no matter where life takes us, our experiences at BVIS have been an incredibly solid springboard for our future, filled with laughter, knowledge, and growth, which we will always cherish with gratitude.” 

Thus, the 11th graduating class of BVIS officially leaves the school gates this summer, excited for new directions on their next journey. We wish them a future full of opportunities, success, happiness, and fulfillment in their upcoming endeavors.
