Russell is a Music Teacher and Director of Performing Arts with 18 years of extensive experience. Having taught in renowned British and IB international schools across various countries including the United Kingdom, Taiwan, China, and South Korea, Russell brings a wealth of knowledge in music education.

Russell's educational background includes a BA(Hons) in Jazz, Pop and Commercial Music from Newcastle College, as well as QTS and PGCE in Secondary Music Education from the University of Sunderland. Additionally, he holds an MA in World Music Studies from the University of Sheffield and is nearing the completion of an MA in Educational Leadership and Management from the University of Bath.

Recognizing the significance of the arts in a well-rounded education, Russell firmly believes in its ability to nurture students' curiosity, creativity, and leadership skills. Throughout his career, he has showcased his expertise in directing concert bands, orchestras, and coordinating large-scale concerts, musical productions, and regional festivals.

Joining Russell on this journey is his wife, Zona, along with their two children, Tyler and Oliver, who are excited to become a part of BSG community and make new friends.

In his spare time, Russell indulges in his passion for music as a bass guitar and saxophone player, often performing in bands. Alongside his musical interests, he also leads an active lifestyle, engaging in activities such as running and swimming. Additionally, he takes pleasure in supporting sports teams like Newcastle United and Exeter Chiefs.

With his strong dedication to music education and his commitment to fostering a holistic learning environment, Russell is eager to contribute to the growth and development of the students at BSG.
