Robert is an experienced teacher with thirteen years of teaching experience in various teaching roles. For the past nine years, he has been teaching geography both internationally and in the United Kingdom. He is currently joining the British School of Guangzhou as his fourth school in China, following his previous teaching experiences in Zhongshan, Beijing, and Shanghai. Prior to his time in China, Robert spent six years teaching at an international school in Moscow, Russia.
Robert holds a BA Hons degree in Geography with International Relations and a PGCE in Secondary Geography teaching, both obtained from Plymouth University in the United Kingdom. Teaching geography is a true passion for Robert, as he believes it is an essential subject for students in today's world of increasing interconnectedness and globalization. Understanding the world's economic, social, and environmental issues is crucial for the 21st century.
Outside of academia, Robert enjoys a variety of outdoor activities such as rock climbing (specifically bouldering), mountain biking, hiking, camping, and traveling. He strongly believes that all students can benefit from the wonders of the great outdoors. Additionally, Robert is eager to improve his Mandarin Chinese skills and hopes to learn a bit of Cantonese as well.
