Natham Hetherington

Natham is an experienced educator with a strong background in science education and leadership. He completed his degrees at Cardiff University and his PGCE at Brighton University. Natham recently obtained his Master's in Education and various NPQ leadership qualifications. His research projects focused on improving student outcomes in science and developing metacognition and self-regulatory skills in the classroom.

Over the course of 8 years, Natham held various leadership roles in schools across England and Wales. Alongside his leadership responsibilities, he taught up to 2 A Level subjects, showcasing his expertise in science education. Natham also served as a mentor for heads of department within a multi-academy trust, helping them enhance student outcomes. As a PGCE and NQT tutor, he played a vital role in nurturing and developing the next generation of teachers.

Natham's passion lies in teaching science and inspiring the future generation of scientists. He strongly believes in fostering resilience and a growth mindset in his students, recognizing these skills as essential for success both in academics and life. Natham strives to create an engaging and supportive learning environment where students can thrive and achieve their highest potential.

In 2021, Natham relocated to China with his wife, Vicky, who is also teaching at BSG. They are both excited to be part of Nord Anglia and BSG, renowned for their outstanding global reputation in education. Natham looks forward to contributing his expertise and enthusiasm to the school community. When he's not teaching, Natham has a passion for rugby and competitive powerlifting. He enjoys staying active and embracing physical challenges.
