Matthew holds a prestigious joint honours degree in Forensic Science and Biology from the esteemed University of Glamorgan, coupled with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) acquired from London Metropolitan University, certifying their Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Merging his avid interest in Science, Design, ICT, and Technology, he currently has embraced the pivotal role of spearheading STEAM initiatives, ensuring students receive a comprehensive education that skillfully equips them for the future.
Gaining valuable insight from over 12 years of teaching experience, much of Matthew’s career has been dedicated to being a classroom teacher. In his position as a STEAM lead, he is dedicated to integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics, to foster innovation, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking among the students. By providing hands-on opportunities to delve into coding, robotics, art, and design, he encourages exploration of individual interests and cultivate skills through a collaborative and captivating atmosphere.
Engaging in parenthood alongside his professional endeavours, Matthew appreciates firsthand the significance of offering a high-quality education to children. Acknowledging BSG as a leading institution in Guangzhou, he takes immense pride in being a valued member of a team that tirelessly strives for educational excellence. His own daughter exhibits a strong affinity for science-based subjects, while his son possesses a remarkable passion for computer programming and art. As his youngest daughter is still exploring her interests, she harbors some amazing ideas for future career prospects.
