Ian joined BSG at the start of the 2022-2023 school year and has been living with his family in Guangzhou for over six years. He graduated with a First Class BSc. (Hons) from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa; and a PGCEi with distinction from Nottingham University, UK. Ian is a dedicated and enthusiastic primary teacher who is passionate about providing a holistic approach to teaching. With his strong commitment to education, he creates a vibrant and engaging classroom environment where students can thrive. He has a passion for birdwatching, history, music, reading and science, and instills in his students a sense of wonder and curiosity about the world around them. By fostering a love for nature and scientific inquiry, he inspires his students to explore and appreciate the wonders of the natural world.
Outside of the classroom Ian coaches the U9 Primary football teams. He is an avid cricket and football supporter and ensures that physical activity and sportsmanship are valued within the classroom. As a family man with two children, aged 9 and 7, also at BSG, Ian understands the importance of a supportive family environment in a child's educational journey. He works closely with parents, ensuring strong communication and involvement in their child's education. By nurturing this partnership, he creates a solid foundation for student success. With his dedication, enthusiasm, and diverse interests, Ian is committed to providing a dynamic and enriching learning experience for his students.
