BSG Guangzhou Scholarships 2024/25
For our core text, the Cubs Class is reading 'Goodnight Moon', by Margaret Wise Brown. As part of this being our focus for English and supporting the children to work on skills related to communication and language, we started off by looking at the cover of the book and had a discussion about the 'moon' and the 'stars'. This then inspired the children to further discuss what we would need to be able to reach all the way up to the stars and moon! We used our imagination and decided we should create our very own rockets that would get us to the moon! Some children chose to use arts and craft materials, while some students used various construction toys, including magnetic shapes and wooden blocks, to set off in their imaginary rockets. Our learning extended to beyond the classroom, where the children spent time also in our Active Learning Centre, exploring the various STEAM resources to build their rockets! Zoom, zoom, zoom.....we're going to the moon!
Primary’s first house competition of this academic year saw the mighty Saxons emerge victorious over their counterparts during yesterday’s lunchtime dodgeball epic.
