BA (Hons)
Tom graduated from Bishop Grosseteste University in Lincoln in 2016 with a BA Honours in Education and English. He is from Lincoln, Lincolnshire in England. He knew from an early age that he wanted to be a teacher. He loves helping the people around him learn and master something new.
Tom has experience in many different types of educational environments. He returned to his former Primary school, Bicker Preparatory School, to experience teaching in a private Primary school. He has also worked in Primary schools in a deprived area, for children with autism, and state secondary schools. During his summer vacations at university, he went to America and taught at a young children's camp in North Carolina. He was a friend, mentor, and carer for many sets of young children. After graduating, Tom went to France and taught archery, orientation and low ropes to Primary school students. He then taught at a secondary school for children with autism in Spalding, U.K.
He received the offer to work in China in the spring of 2017. Since arriving in China, he has taught in training centres, public primary schools, international schools and kindergartens. Tom is thrilled to join BSB in August 2022 as it is such a prestigious and outstanding school.
Tom loves football and plays for a team in Beijing called Beijing Spirit. This is where he met most of his best friends. Ge loves West Ham and Lincoln City and in his personal opinion, they are the best football teams in the world. He is a big fan of running and loves running 5K or 10K. He loves political thrillers - Darkest Hour and Argo are two of his favourite movies. He can speak a little bit of French and German, but to be honest, he's out of practice! He is somewhat conversational in Mandarin Chinese and is studying to pass the HSK 3 test.
