Tasneem has a BA in English Language and Literature, Drama and Religious Studies from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She received her PGCE in the same university. She has also completed the University of Cambridge TKTs - Modules 1, 3, Young Learners and CLIL.
Tasneem has 10 years of teaching experience, primarily in China. Starting her journey in Tianjin and later transitioning to Beijing in 2019, she has taught students aged 3 to 18. Presently employed within the Nord Anglia Education group as a Homeroom teacher, she has a passion for the education, aiming to be a positive influence on children's lives. Her move to BSB Shunyi in August 2024 was fueled by a desire for professional advancement within the organization, seeking to use her wealth of experience to make a lasting impact on her students.
Tasneem has honed her skills in cultivating diverse student groups' love for learning. Firmly believing in each child's unique abilities, she strives to unlock their full potential through personalised instruction tailored to their distinct needs. Embracing a student-centric approach, she emphasises interactive and engaging teaching methodologies that spark curiosity and critical thinking. She also integrates hands-on activities and technology to create a dynamic learning environment promoting both academic excellence and holistic student development.
As an entrepreneur, Tasneem co-owns a small business which showcases her passion for crafts and education. She is interested in travel and the new experiences it brings. Her hobbies are reading and cooking and she is currently studying towards a diploma in nutrition. Beyond being an entrepreneur, she actively engages in animal rescue. When she is not working, she enjoys relaxing with her three cats and walking her dog, who were all rescued within Beijing.
