Shannon Gallagher

Reception Teacher
Shannon-Gallagher

BA

Since graduating with a BA in Applied Language and Translation Studies from Dublin City University, it has been a main ambition of Shannon to work within education. She joined BSB in 2022, and has enjoyed working with the EYFS team to provide a challenging, exciting and caring environment for her students.

Prior to joining BSB, Shannon has spent five years working as an Early Years specialist in Beijing. Her experience teaching with young learners has provided her with opportunities to work with various curricula including the English Curriculum and the IB Primary Years Programme. She is extremely grateful for the experiences, opportunities and challenges that she has over the years collaborating with young children from ages 3-6. She ensures that she meets the holistic and academic needs of the learners in her care, through understanding the child’s strengths, interests and limitations – while also having fun!

Shannon loves to stay active by playing sports. She plays for a women’s football team, in addition to playing Gaelic football. On the weekends, she enjoys getting out of the city and hiking on the Great Wall and afar. She has a lot of passion for languages and has studied both Chinese and French at university level. "Learning another language is not only learning different words for the same things but learning another way to think about things." - Flora Lewis
