BA, MA, PGCE
Both Rugera's parents were teachers, and he looked at their profession with deep admiration. Clearly, nothing gave them more pleasure than seeing and discussing about how they will have touched and changed young people’s lives for the better through their work. As a result of this inspiration, at an early age, he knew that teaching will be on top of the list of his life career options.
After completing his degree in Theology, Rugera worked briefly as a pastor before he went for postgraduate theological studies at Friedensau University in Germany and University of Wales in the UK. Thereafter he took his PGCE at Roehampton University London in 2006. In 2007 he joined the Philosophy and Religious Education department at Blessed Hugh Faringdon School in Reading UK, where he remained for the following 10 years. During this time, he profoundly grew up professionally - from a timid Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) to a confident and successful Head of Department.
Because of Rugera's love for digital technology and the very evident advanced IT skills he displayed, he was progressively asked to teach more and more IT/ICT/CS classes over the years. He eventually found himself taking specialist Computer Science teaching courses at Kings College London and attended numerous CPDs run by different organization, more especially CAS. He left Blessed Hugh Faringdon in 2016 for teaching Computer Science at St Constantine’s International School in Arusha Tanzania.
After three years in Tanzania, Rugera decided to accept a rare privilege of being a part of a clearly world-class international school. Teaching at BSB is a dream come true and Rugera's family take this privilege very seriously. Rugera and his children - Michael and Isabelle are deeply proud of being part of the Be Ambitious philosophy.
Outside of work Rugera's main passion is travelling, making new friends and spending time with his family. He also enjoys being involved in community service in any way. They are looking forward to many wonderfully years of service at a great school, in a great country with great people.v
