Nancy is extremely excited to join the BSB Shunyi family full time in 2023 and can't wait to meet her new class. She is committed to creating an engaging learning environment where children can feel safe and develop a love of learning that can be continued throughout their lives. She has high expectations for manners and kindness towards each other and will be there to support them as they navigate these important social skills.
Nancy has a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours in Community Health with General Practice Nursing from the Manchester Metropolitan University and an Adult Nursing Diploma from the University of Manchester. She worked in the British healthcare system as a registered nurse for 10 years before moving to China in 2015 with her husband and two small children. She has experience working in an international school in Wuxi setting up a bilingual class and working as a homeroom teacher. She soon realised she had a real passion for teaching, and after moving to Beijing in 2018, completed her PGCE with Sunderland University.
Nancy has been working at BSB since 2021 across all year levels as a supply teacher. This has been an excellent opportunity for her to consolidate some of the knowledge gained from her training and to see how to adapt different teaching strategies across different grade levels to have the most benefit for the children. She is excited to be the Year 2 Class Teacher in 2023.
Nancy has 3 wonderful daughters who are also attending BSB. She is passionate about travelling, experiencing new cultures, and trying new things. To relax, she enjoys playing mahjong, running and listening to music. They also have a rescue dog called Chino who the family all dote on.
