BSc, PGCE
Katie has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from Dublin Institute of Technology, a PGCE and Teaching Certificate in Pre and Primary from the Asian College of Teachers. She is from Ireland and has over 10 years of international school teaching experience in Brazil, China and Thailand. Her first international post was in Brazil in 2011. Once she started teaching abroad, she fell in love with the profession and realized that teaching is where her passion is. Katie has taken several professional development teaching courses and became fully qualified after completing her PGCE.
Katie joined BSB Shunyi in August 2023. She is passionate about teaching and keenly interested in helping pupils to stretch their limits, raise the bar and achieve the best that each student is capable of. She is an outgoing person who brings fun to a class, and that combined with her teaching skills motivates students into productive and engaging learning. She believes in academic rigour in a fun and enjoyable learning environment.
Katie is a mother to 3 lovely children so my hobbies as a mother are to see my children happy and to support them in developing in the areas that they are passionate about. In my free time she enjoys going for family walks and reading.
