Jarrod has taught for 5 years in China, 3 of those being in Year 6 where he was the Year Level Lead. He aims to create a calm and welcoming environment for all students, for them to develop in a holistic manner. He has a BSc in Psychology from the Leeds Trinity University, a MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience (with merit) from The University of York, a PGCE (with merit) from Leeds Beckett University and a TEFL.
Jarrod decided to join BSB Shunyi in August 2023 due to its great reputation, both in China and internationally. It is a well-respected Primary school that he believes provides a world class level of education to its students. He believes that he will develop as a teacher here and personal growth is something that he values very highly.
Jarrod enjoys watching and taking part in all sporting events. He is currently playing rugby for the Beijing Aardvarks RFC. He also enjoys hiking and has completed the Yorkshire Peaks on multiple occasions. He enjoys travelling, socialising with friends and is an avid cook that loves trying new recipes and meals.
