Iris' enthusiasm and experiences about teaching and working with people from different language backgrounds made her decide to apply and work for BSB Shunyi in January 2023.
She graduated from the University of Graz with the Magistra philosophiae (Mag.phil) degree. She also has a Diploma for Secondary Teachers in English and History, Social studies and Political education.
Iris' previous experiences teaching at a Secondary School and working with young people of different learning stages, made her realize how important it is to see the individual and consider each student’s learning process when teaching classes. Especially, when it comes to language learning, she managed to organise her lessons by differentiating and using a variety of methods and concepts that would help the learner to achieve their personal academic goals.
Working with students from different language backgrounds and teaching a class of second language learners made her realize how important it is to provide students with the language input they need in order to be able to communicate successfully in written and oral form.
Iris is an optimistic person who is always eager to learn something new. Constant personal and academic growth is very important to her and that is why she loves travelling, exploring foreign cultures and meeting new people. In the future, she wants to explore even more countries to share her cultural experiences and knowledge with people inside and outside of school.
