BA, BA, Med, Referendariat (German equivalent to the PGCE)
Eric graduated from the University of Siegen. He completed two Bachelor programs (English/German, German/Social Studies) as well as a Master of Education for teaching German and Social Studies at high schools and chose “The economic significance of German in an international context” as the topic of his Master’s thesis.
After graduating from university, Eric began his teaching career at a bilingual high school in the German city of Düren, where he earned his teaching license. His Literature classes emphasises connecting past literature to the student's own life, fostering a deeper personal engagement with the material. Eric is dedicated to creating an environment where students see their mistakes as valuable learning opportunities rather than obstacles.
Joining BSB Shunyi in 2024 as a Secondary German Teacher and IB Diploma German Language and Literature teacher, Eric is excited to contribute to the school’s dynamic, globally-minded atmosphere that nurtures and enhances each student’s potential.
In 2019, Eric has already lived in China’s Shandong Province to study Kung Fu for seven months. Since then, he has a great passion for Kung Fu, which motivated him to start learning Mandarin. In addition to Kung Fu, he likes swimming, reading and dreams of travelling many different countries. So far, he has travelled in Europe, Canada, China and India. His favorite author is the Israeli Professor Yuval Noah Harari. Eric sets himself the goal to read his book “Sapiens” in Mandarin until December 2025.
