MEd, MFA, BFA
Daren has been teaching for well over twenty years including middle school, secondary school and at college level. He has worked as a professional musician from a young age and has toured all over the United States and the world, playing with many notable musicians.
Daren is originally from Los Angeles, California and came to Beijing in 2017 to start a music programme at a brand-new school. He is to be seen regularly performing in Beijing with the city’s leading jazz artists. He has furthermore released many recordings including eight of his own projects. He joined BSB Shunyi in 2022 as our Head of Expressive Arts.
Daren has a Master of Education in Education Technology from Moreland University. He also has a MFA in Music Performer/Composer and BFA in Jazz Bass both from California Institute of the Arts.
