Claudia-Kort

MA

Claudia graduated with a Master of Arts in German Language and Literature from the University of Hamburg and obtained her degree in DAF (German as a Secondary Language) from the University of Gießen.

Prior to her teaching career, Claudia worked in the theatre and as a journalist specializing in cultural affairs. With extensive international experience as an educator, she most recently played a pivotal role in establishing the German Programme at a prominent international school. There, she spearheaded the development of a customised German Language curriculum tailored for IB Programmes.

Joining The British School of Beijing, Shunyi in 2022 as a Secondary German and IB Diploma German Language and Literature teacher, Claudia eagerly anticipates the opportunity to share her expertise with the students. She finds immense satisfaction in teaching at international schools, where students are regarded as collaborative partners in the learning process, and families are valued as equal stakeholders in the school community.

A strong sense of familial connection resonates with Claudia. Not only does she hold her own small family dear, but she also considers the individuals she encounters throughout life as part of her extended family. Her curiosity extends to global political affairs, and she enjoys staying informed about developments from various regions of the world. Beyond her enduring love for literature, Claudia nurtures a keen interest in history and psychology. As an IB practitioner, she deeply believes in embodying the qualities of the learner profile and is particularly passionate about exploring the human condition through inquiry, appreciating life's finer aspects such as good food and engaging conversations.
