Hilary Easton, Juilliard Dance Specialist 12-13 February

BSB had the privilege of welcoming Hilary Easton, our Juilliard dance specialist, for an inspiring two-day visit. Hilary brought her wealth of expertise, passion and energy, leading professional development sessions for our teachers on how to ignite creativity in the classroom and deliver the Juilliard curriculum with excellence. These visits provide our entire community with a rare opportunity to learn from a world-class performing artist, pushing the boundaries of arts education and enriching our students' creative journeys.

Hilary's time at BSB was nothing short of electrifying! She led Year 6 students in an engaging movement workshop, exploring how to perform in unison and contrast. She also visited Year 2 and Year 5 for lessons observations.

Secondary students with Hilary

In Year 9, she guided students through composing movement pieces, helping them craft well-structured and expressive performances. Her expertise also extended to the cast of our upcoming production of Grease, where she offered invaluable choreography tips, refining their stage presence and storytelling through movement.

1. Delivering an excellent performing arts education with Juilliard

Your child’s learning of the performing arts will be enhanced using a repertoire of core music, dance and drama works encompassing a wide range of genres, styles and cultures designed and hand-selected by Juilliard. Our teachers will use the Juilliard Creative Classroom, an extraordinary collection of educational resources that have been designed to enhance and supplement our performing arts curricula. Juilliard designed teaching materials, creative activities and rehearsal strategies lead students through explorations of core works of music, dance, and drama and emphasise building students’ personal artistry through their own creativity. 4. Summer Performing Arts with Juilliard

We also provide students with the chance to participate in the Summer Performing Arts with Juilliard programmes in the USA and China; immersive experiences where students explore music, dance and drama in depth and form lasting relationships with others passionate about the arts from across the world. Unique programmes designed by The Juilliard School and taught by their teachers offer students an inspiring and fun-filled experience, during term-time and in the holidays.
