In the past 2 weeks, we’ve welcomed visits first from the UK and Canada. We already have a series of visits lined up from university recruiters in USA, Europe and other countries so stay tuned for more updates.
As part of our higher education and careers support, these visits allow students to gain valuable insights into the wide range of options, areas of specialization, entry requirements, application procedures – all of which will later be of great benefit to our students when students choose colleges and universities that best fit their strengths, passions and aspirations.
Year 12 students enjoyed hearing from Professor Alcock, University of Birmingham. He's the Professor of Mathematics and Finance, and Deputy-Dean of Jinan-Birmingham Joint Institute. They also got useful information about life at U of Birmingham and the application process.
BSB is committed to giving the best possible support to our students on their journey to higher education and beyond. Steve Luke, our Head of Higher Education and Careers represented BSB at a number of counsellors’ events organized by Cambridge Education.
Friday 6th Sep was the Beijing Counsellors’ Café, a chance to network with counsellors from top high schools, not only from Beijing but also from other major Chinese cities, in order to share ideas and best practice on higher education guidance and support for our students. In addition there were workshops with recruiters from top universities from Europe (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and the University of Cologne in Germany, Centrale Nantes and Science Po in France) and Japan (Tohoku), discussing pathways to, and studying in, these countries.
Saturday 7th Sep saw the Cambridge High School fair, an event for Mr Luke to showcase BSB and meet with over 100 university delegates from as far as USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, Turkey, and elsewhere. Mr Luke gained valuable insights into the wide range of options, areas of specialization, entry requirements, application procedures – all of which will later be of great benefit to our students when guiding students to colleges and universities that best fit their strengths, passions and aspirations.
