Class of 2024 Outstanding University Offers

We are proud to share more details about our Class of 2024 university acceptance offers and we are expecting many more coming our way! These are from many prestigious universities globally as you can see from the list below. We also have students who will be taking a gap year to gain more experiences before starting their higher education. We wish everyone all the best wishes in their future endeavours.

Atay received multiple offers from European universities to read Business Information Technology. Atay joined BSB in Year 8 and when asked who's his favourite teacher, he replied that "Mr Sheridan, Mr Burnham, Ms Valentina, and Mr Lupe are really helpful and ready to support their student as best as they can, while also being strict about the effort that you have to put in. They don’t only do the least they have to do, but also take their own private time into account for the wellbeing of their students." We wish Atay all the best in his future studies!

Batu received multiple offers including Amsterdam, Maastrich, Vrije and Tilburg from The Netherlands, and Manchester, Liverpool and Queen Mary from the UK. He joined BSB in Primary school Year 6 and plans to pursue his studies in the field of Computer Science, Data Science or IT Management for Business. Queen Mary University of London has also offered Batu a scholarship of £3000 pounds per year to study Computer Science and Management. We wish Batu all the best!

Brandon received offers to study science and engineering from top US universities including Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Purdue, Pennsylvania State, Stony Brook and UC Merced. Purdue has also offered a scholarship of $10,000 annually for 4 years. He joined BSB in Year 8 and he said that 2 of his best memories were “going to the World Scholar’s Cup Tournament of Champions in Yale with the BSB Team, and receiving 1st place for library design in Future Thinkers Competition. Ms. Donnelly has patiently worked with me for my Extended Essay and been through so many ups and downs with me in English class. She kept guiding me forward until we both reached the end of the storm and I believe with her support, I'll have the potential to excel in the IB course.”

Deiter for receiving offers to study Physiotherapy and Sports and Exercise Science. He has represented our school in numerous Sports Team such as our U19 Football, Basketball, Volleyball Teams and was involved in coaching younger students. He also enjoys the Stock Exchange Club.

Eli received scholarships from 3 universities - Sheffield £2000, York University CAD$3000 and Trinity Western CAD$6000 annually. He received multiple offers to study Business Management including

• UK: University of Sheffield, University of Leeds
• Canada: University of Toronto, University of Guelph, York University, Trinity Western University, Toronto Metropolitan, Wilfrid Laurier
• Hong Kong: Hong Kong University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University
• Switzerland: EHL International Hospitality Management

"Through my volunteer work at BSB's Chatter Box Café (all profits went to the charity work at Seeway Tanzania), I put to action the theoretical knowledge that I learned from my Business Management class. It gave me a sneak peek of real-world business operations. This experience at the Chatter Box also helped immensely when applying to universities."

Erick received offers to study Sports Science/Coaching and Sports Performance. He joined BSB in Year 10 and said that “BSB is a really dynamic school with a lot of different tools that allow the students to achieve different things academically.”

James received offers to read Music Production and Sound Engineering. He joined BSB in Year 7 and was awarded the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award for the June 2022 IGCSE series in Design Technology being one of the top students who took the course in Southeast Asia. James has also enjoyed participating in many musical performances and School Musicals including Guys & Dolls, The Addams Family, Legally Blonde etc.

Michael received multiple offers from UK universities to read Computer Science / Electronic and Computer Engineering. He joined BSB in Year 9 and talks about his great experience at the GAILA XR Asia Cup 2023. "We used Extended Reality (XR) with a website to display 2D and 3D data/graphs in our videos for better visuals. I had a lot of fun, as I got to become familiar with new software that is very useful, and I met a lot of new people whom I became friends with. Overall, I enjoyed myself a lot and improved my collaboration skills."

Nicolas joined BSB in Year 6. He aims to read Computer Science. "I am thankful for the opportunity to have taken part in  the GAILA Asia XR Cup Challenge 2023, it's such an innovative and collaborative event. I am excited to see how schools will continue to incorporate immersive technologies in the classroom and beyond.”

Sangwoo received offer to study a Bachelor of Science. When asked who’s his favourite teacher, Sangwoo said “Dr Kim gives support in many aspects. Motivates me and helps me with my academics while also giving me emotional support and helps me maintain confidence.”

Sphez Mgodeli received offers to read Economics from UK universities. He joined BSB in Year 8. He said that two of his best memories are the residential trip to Xiamen and football trip to Dalian. Studying at BSB has given him opportunity to learn about teamwork and he thinks BSB's warm feeling is what’s special about the school.  His advice to other students is to take it day by day and focus on what’s today, don’t stress yourself.

Tadej Trpkoski received offer from Charles University to read Politics Philosophy & Economics (PPE). He said that "Studying at BSB has provided me with the opportunity to apply to high grade universities due to the credibility factor of the school. BSB has also allowed me to study under the IBDP which is highly beneficial to my career."  Two of his best memories are organising the TEDxBSBShunyi Youth event and the Year 12 CAS Halloween Haunted House fundraising for charity.
