On Saturday 23rd October, the Year 5 and 6 Choir performed once again at the annual British Ball. What an experience!

The children had such a lovely evening at the Shangri-La China World Summit Wing Hotel. Everyone could feel their excitement the whole time, from the sound check to the performance in the ballroom.

This year’s theme “A Night at the West End” is perfect for a choir! All the fantastic musicals featured at London’s West End provided so many fun song options for our enthusiastic singers.

The catchy showtunes “I Whistle a Happy Tune” from The King and I and “A Spoonful of Sugar” from Mary Poppins got the audience’s feet tapping.Their heartfelt performance of “Circle of Life” from The Lion King was simply touching. But I think everyone’s favourite was “Mamma Mia” from the musical Mamma Mia. My, my, how could we resist clapping?

The Year 5 and 6 Choir students have been preparing for this performance since the first day of school. They had to work very hard to be ready for this performance, and we are so very proud of them. They sang beautifully and represented BSB Shunyi very well.

Caroline Wilson DCMG, British Ambassador to the People's Republic of China also gave a speech during the event.

The British Ball raised over 200,000 RMB for our charity, Educating Girls of Rural China. BSB is honoured to play a part in contributing to a great cause. Please enjoy pictures from their unforgettable evening!
