The British School of Beijing (BSB), Shunyi students have once again achieved strong results in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for the 2017/18 academic school year. BSB's average score this year is 34 points, significantly higher than the IB global average, widening the gap between ourselves and other IB schools around the world.
Richard Thornhill, Principal of BSB Shunyi said "I wish to congratulate all our Year 13 students on an outstanding set of IBDP results. 2018 has been a special year, the highlight of which was the perfect score of 45 achieved by one of our students. This is a rare achievement across the world, in 2017 only 218 students out of well over 150,000 entrants achieved this perfect score.
With an average points score of 34 placing our students well above the global average of just over 29, it has been indeed a special year! Our students are now well placed to claim their rightful places at the top universities in the world. I would like to say well done to them and at the same time acknowledge the skill and hard work of all the staff at BSB who have made this possible.”
Andy Puttock, Education Director of Nord Anglia Education, said, “I am delighted by the outstanding IB diploma results achieved by our students this year. This excellent outcome is not only due to their efforts but also the incredible hard work put in by the school’s teachers throughout the year to ensure our children experience the best in learning.”
He added, “For eight consecutive years, students at Nord Anglia Education schools have exceeded the IB Diploma global average score, achieving a pass rate of 92% compared to the global average of 78.4%. This is a testament to our Be Ambitious philosophy, highlighting that there is no limit to what our students can achieve.”
Once again, bravo to our students on your hard work!
