Dear Parents,
I trust this letter finds you and your family safe and well. I would encourage you please to take the time to read this letter carefully, as it contains important information about the beginning of our new school term.
NEW START DATE & ORIENTATION MORING
Our new start date for the Autumn Term is now Wednesday 1st September 2021. As you know, we were hoping that the first day of term would be an Orientation Day, giving you an opportunity to visit your child’s classroom and meet their new teacher. Unfortunately, due to the current restrictions we are unable to do this and will therefore have to postpone the Orientation Day until, we hope, later in the term. As a result, Wednesday 1st September will now be a normal school day for Primary, Reception and Nursery. Registration takes place from 8.10am and lessons start at 8.30am. School arrival times for children not taking the bus, are as follows:
PRE-NURSERY AND TADPOLES STAGGERED START
If your child is in our Pre-Nursery or Tadpoles class, please note the following:
Monday 6 September: Stay and Play for Pre-Nursery and Tadpoles (Li Building, Outdoor Learning Space) - children and their parents come to school from 9am – 10.30am in our Outdoor Learning Space. Parents must please accompany their child and remain with them during the morning.
Tuesday 7 September: Stay and Play for Pre-Nursery and Tadpoles from 9am – 10.30am; as above.
Wednesday 8 September 2021: First day of school for Pre-Nursery and Tadpoles. School arrival time for Pre-Nursery and Tadpoles children not taking the bus is 8.30am.
REVISED 2021-22 SCHOOL CALENDAR
Please see the revised school calendar for 2021-22 which is attached.
21-DAY TEMPERATURE LOG
Please note that you will need to bring your child’s 21-day temperature log as well as a Health Declaration Form (please find attached to this letter) on their first day at school.
BACK TO SCHOOL DAYS ACTIVITIES
We are pleased to be able to provide you with some Back to School Days activities to help keep your child occupied before the School Campus reopens in September. You will receive details about these later today.
Whilst it is most unfortunate that the beginning of our new school year has once again been disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, we can look forward to an exciting term ahead at BSB Sanlitun during which time we are hopeful that life will quickly return to a more normal state of affairs. During the summer holidays there has been a great deal of refurbishment work and other important improvements carried out around the school. Most notably our new extended playground which now incorporates the space between the San and the Tun/Li Buildings. This will be a most welcome addition to our facilities allowing more outdoor space for our pupils to use.
I will write again with further updates as and when we get them. In the meantime, I wish you well and look forward to seeing you again in September.
With best wishes.
Yours sincerely,
John Brett MA
