As part of our ‘To Infinity and Beyond’ topic, the children were excited to have their ‘Wow’ event this week where they trained to become astronauts.
Throughout Wednesday morning, they traveled between 12 stations, experiencing a range of whole host of different activities that were designed to test their fitness, agility, knowledge and fine motor skills. One of the more physical activities that the children had to undergo was negotiating tricky terrain using the climbing wall in the basement. A less physically strenuous activity included a station where they were asked to draw constellations using chalk and a station where they were asked to move small sweets from one bowl to another using chopsticks. A fiddly task! I am happy to report that all the Year 5 children passed their training and we look forward to having them as well-trained astronauts on our topic journey ‘To infinity and Beyond!’
