Year 4 safely arrived in Pingyao yesterday after a relaxing train journey. We reached the guesthouse and have been settling in nicely with The Dengs.

We had planned a to see a trial 'performance' at the magistrate's before dinner, however missed the show so enjoyed a long walk along the ancient wall and we visited the Confucius and city god. After a really good night's sleep by all, followed by a yummy breakfast we set off for Kung Fu, a museum and art lessons today. We've seen so much already and have even more to experience.

We learnt a routine from a kung fu master then followed this up with some serious haggling on the street stalls. After some delicious lunch in a local restaurant, we had a bit of time to rest. We're now learning how to decorate opera masks, do ancient calligraphy and papercut this afternoon. Everyone's having a great time in the sunny weather!

We'll update more news tomorrow.
