Pre-Nursery Leader

I was born and raised in West Yorkshire, England, where I studied for two years to become a qualified Nursery Nurse. I then attended Edge Hill University near Liverpool, where I undertook my teaching degree. After graduating, I moved back to my hometown, where I began teaching in a local primary school. I had the pleasure of teaching there for three years in Early Years and KS1, where I gained many invaluable experiences. During my second year of teaching, I became the Science Subject Coordinator for Early Years and KS1.

I love to travel and first visited Chicago after meeting my Chicago-born fiancé, Corey while traveling in Italy back in 2015. I immediately fell in love with the city, it’s diverse culture, and unforgettable food. Corey and I became engaged, July of last year while traveling in Paris and are currently planning our English countryside wedding for July of next year. When I was offered a position here at BISC-LP back in 2017, it was a dream come true. My position here as Pre-Nursery Leader and Program Director has allowed me to combine my knowledge of teaching and caring for young children, my passion for creating nurturing environments, and my love for putting children and their families at the center of everything I do.

When in the classroom, my main aims are to excite, inspire, and nurture all children. I pride myself on creating a safe, secure, and loving environment. I believe each child is an individual with individual needs and that their learning should be personalized and structured to meet those academic needs. Every child deserves to learn in a holistic, nurturing environment, where both their educational and emotional needs are fully met; this will essentially help every child to reach their full potential, feeling content and supported while doing so.
