Maybe you've watched Chicago Fire. Or perhaps you've caught an episode of Chicago PD. From excecutive producer Dick Wolf (Law & Order), comes another TV drama that just premiered in November about relationships forged in the chaos of the emergency room -- it's a spin-off known as Chicago Med and has just become one of Tuesday night's top-scripted TV shows of the week.

For Year 5 (or fourth grade) student Sasha Rossof, this means her national television debut as a girl injured during a train accident (pilot episode, "Derailed") was seen by 8.6 million viewers across the country -- that's more than three times the population of Chicago!

You would think this would be a lot for a young student to absorb, but the day after the pilot premiered, it was just another day at school for Sasha.

"Although both I and the rest of the class were thrilled to see Sasha on national television taking on such a significant role, she came in the next day as if nothing had happened," said her teacher, Matt Gregory"That, perhaps, is one of Sasha's finest qualities; despite being on a critically acclaimed new TV show, she is still the cheerful down-to-earth classmate that we've come to know. Hopefully, her ambition and positive attitude will lead to her landing more roles soon."

Before Sasha joined the British International School of Chicago, Lincoln Park, acting was already a passion of hers. Since the age of three, she's appeared in commercials, independent films, a music video, stage performances, and voiceovers. She's also a member of the Screen Actor's Guild (SAG). Considering our campus encourages our students to "Be Ambitious!," this is a wonderful achievement for a nine-year old kid.

When Sasha's not loving learning (she likes our STEAM classes: science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) and benefiting from the many wonderful programs at our school (BISC, along with its sister campus in the South Loop, is the only private school in the city to offer The Juilliard-Nord Anglia Performing Arts Programme), she can be found riding her bike and playing with her younger brother, Max.

Be sure to check out the pictures from her television debut and watch NBC's Chicago Med on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. (Central Time).
