Known for its enriched environment and culturally diverse students and teachers from 70+ nationalities, BIS Houston will welcome boarding students from Year 10 to Year 13 into the IGCSE curriculum and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP). The skills developed through these programs provide outstanding preparation for higher education, giving students the opportunity to access top universities globally.
“We are delighted to offer the opportunity for additional students to access our unique educational offering. Our internationally recruited teachers combined with our caring, student-focused environment creates outstanding academic results year over year,” said Barrie Scrymgeour, Principal of BIS Houston.
BIS Houston IB results are impressive with a 35-point average score and 97 percent IPDP pass rate – that is higher than the world average of 89 percent. Moreover, 98 percent of its students achieved the equivalent of 5+ A*-C in the IGCSE.
“We are extremely excited about the launch of the boarding offering at BIS Houston,” said John McCall, Head of North America for NAE. “This will provide a great opportunity for our existing students in the Nord Anglia Network of Schools, as well as new students and families who are looking for a British International curriculum within an exceptional boarding experience,” John added.
The school offers a unique competitive balance with academics and sports including state-of-the-art sports facilities and athletics offering such as basketball, volleyball, track and field, golf, soccer, swimming, and tennis. Boarding students will also receive unique opportunities through Nord Anglia’s global collaborations with Juilliard School, MIT, and UNICEF to understand and expand their ability to impact communities through innovative thinking.
Students who attend BIS Houston and require boarding will use the accommodations at the Village School in Houston. These accommodations include on-campus dormitory, lounges, courtyard, learning commons, game rooms, just to name a few.
