As the focus on climate change continues to increase significantly, we are delighted to announce, Humanities Teacher, Mrs Bennett, has become a UN-certified climate change teacher.
Through the UN Climate Change Teacher Academy teachers are able to teach students vital lessons about climate change but they will also earn CPD and certification from the United Nations. Mrs Bennett has passed the online training for teachers which has been designed to equip educators with the knowledge and confidence to deliver lessons on the topic of climate change our students and across the school curriculum. Climate Change Teachers are able to encourage and generate social innovation, and prepare today’s youth to protect the planet.
The UN launched a trial version of its climate change teacher academy in the UK this year, and the course was made available to teachers around the world.
The aim of the programme is to ensure that educators are given the right knowledge and tools before implementing climate change education into a school's curriculum.
We are incredibly proud of Mrs Bennett, climate change and sustainability are areas of great importance around the world and we are now even more better placed to help educate our students on the importance of focussing on climate change.
