The competition proved hugely successful. Out of 19 teams, BIS took the top 3 spots with BIS 2 finishing third, BIS 3 finishing second and BIS 1 finishing as overall champions! Success was shared throughout the teams with BIS 1 winning the Combined Individual, Puzzle and Relay rounds, BIS 3 winning the Puzzle round and BIS 2 grabbing second in the Passback. The students won so many certificates and trophies they had a hard task taking them home! Special mentions go to Billy, Dong Young and WooHyoung who came first, second and third respectively in the Individual round. The competition served as excellent preparation for the upcoming SEAMC contest. We look forward to celebrating more success soon!
Competing student Billy said: "The Intermediate Saigon Maths Competition was a very nice experience for me and the whole SEAMC squad. We had multiple rounds where we could contest in individual and in a team of four. There were several different rounds: passback, puzzle, individual etc. There were a lot of teams from different schools, but BIS HCMC got first, second, and third place for the overall team round. I personally think SMC was a really valuable experience and good preparation for SEAMC in February."
