This week's opponent was SSIS. It’s quite well known that they’re a competitive and skilled team, always with serious prospects of victory. This year, we aimed to challenge them with what is quite possibly the school's strongest U19 girls selection so far. We’ve trained with many of the girls before and so we were quite familiar with their style of play and key players. We knew it wouldn’t be an easy victory or draw but we also knew that we had all the capabilities.
The first half began with a goal scored by Saebom in the first few minutes. We kept this for quite a while until a lucky equalizer was scored by SSIS. The intensity was high, the passes were successful however we failed to fully embrace all the plays and all the combinations we’ve learnt. Nonetheless, we were able to maintain good team chemistry and kept working until half time.
We began the second half with all the motivation and intention to execute our tactics, very soon after we scored a second goal. The feeling was overwhelming, for the first time in 4 years we have exceeded SSIS in the score board. We maintained this score and continued to hustle, however by the simple mistake, we scored an own goal which equalized then once more into 2-2. Admittedly, we were the better, stronger and faster team with one too many shots on goal saved by the best player on their team: the goalkeeper, by the words of the coach from SSIS ‘we were lucky’.

We look forward to facing them again, only this time we’ll be fully prepared for what’s to come and we are determined to give it all we’ve got.
Match Player: Aina Solis - It’s always a joy to have Aina play, even though she didn’t play the whole game she truly held up a strong wall and fight and was practically invincible. After battling and tackling she would proceed to pass the ball down available and appropriate channels.
Coaches Player: Anne Linh Guettier De Percin was influential when coming off the bench; bringing flare, intensity and speed that the opposition couldn't deal with.
