The week beginning 4th December saw the House Dodgeball begin with a vengeance. It’s always a hotly contested competition and this year was bigger and better than ever.
The week beginning 4th December saw the House Dodgeball begin with a vengeance. It’s always a hotly contested competition and this year was bigger and better than ever.
Year 7 and 8 kicked off the week and although there were less numbers than we were expecting in the younger age groups they made up for it in competitive house spirit. The final was a nail biting affair between Dalat and Hue with Dalat eventually coming out on top. Saigon were 3rd and Hanoi came in 4th.
Year 9 and 10 turned up in huge numbers which was fantastic to see. Once again Hue fought their way through to the final only to end up losing to Hanoi. They thought they’d snatched victory from the jaws of defeat after an amazing catch saw Joseph Kang go out for Hanoi but it wasn’t to be. In a change of affairs for Dalat they were 4th and Saigon once again were 3rd.
Year 11 and 13 saw the big guns take to the court as the older year groups came to play. Hanoi unfortunately only had 6 players which made their lives very difficult and once again it was 4th for the team in red. Saigon were the team to beat, undefeated until the final where Hue finally got the victory that had been coming all week!
Finally, Thursday saw the staff dodgeball tournament take place. Dalat and Saigon certainly had the numbers but Hue made their 5 players count. Hanoi once again faced an uphill battle with only two members of staff taking on the other teams (come on Hanoi where are you!). It was tense, it was controversial but it was Saigon who narrowly took the victory from Hue in the end. Thank you to all participants over the whole week who make the competition so exciting.

We are thrilled to announce that a record three students from the BIS HCMC Class of 2025 have received offers from the University of Oxford, ranked number 3 in the world, and the University of Cambridge, ranked number 5 in the world. A huge congratulations to Quynh An, YeongSeo (Judy) and JaeYeon on their extraordinary achievement that sets a new benchmark for BIS students.
These achievements come as BIS students begin to secure outstanding offers from top universities around the world, including USA, UK, Australia and Asia and these numbers will only continue to rise as more decisions will be made over the coming weeks.
