At 4:00pm Wednesday 4th October BIS vs ISHCMC took place and it was one sturdy rivalry. Everyone played like champs but one player stood out amongst the BIS team, Justin Chu our captain and man of the match. I wasn’t certain about the opposition’s man of the match but without a doubt I would give it to Ben Taylor who played excellent throughout the whole match. He scored at least 4 threes and blocked over 4 times.
In the game from our perspective, we had one dilemma across the BIS team and that was marking the opposition’s men. We had trouble with this as ISHCMC had a very clever and strategic positioning of screens, movement and crossing over between players. This strategy led our team to being confused one who we were marking and which enabled the opposition to score a high amount of three pointers.
What I personally thought made us win was the team work. More specifically, the passing and the screens (player stands straight just behind the opposition and as the player runs the oppositions bumps into the screener) this led to high amounts of layups and clever plays in the inside of the box.
Overall, we played a hard-working, impactful game and won 25-24. It was a very close game leading us to wonder when we face them again will the result be the same?
