On Monday morning, we waved off our U11 FOBISIA students as they headed to Thailand to compete in the FOBISIA sports week. Led by Ms. Flavin, 40 students from Year 5 and 6 and Tung Chi from Year 4 set off for Bangkok to compete in swimming, athletics, football, and t-ball. The students have worked their socks off in hot temperatures, but they have done themselves, their parents, and our school so proud!
Embodying our BIS values, they have shown incredible perseverance, giving everything they have got on the sporting field. Further still, and most importantly, they have demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship throughout. They will return later today, tired, no doubt, but hopefully also feeling a few inches taller, having grown in so many ways from this fantastic experience as a team and as individuals.
A special thank you needs to go to our parent support crew, who have been cheering and encouraging the whole team all week. They have kept us updated throughout with pictures and videos and have been brilliant Lionhearts cheer leaders!
Next week on Tuesday, we are excited to invite all parents to our Shared Learning event. Please don’t forget to sign up.
Finally, this weekend is our Year 13 graduation, and I am privileged to be invited to celebrate this special moment with our Year 13 students. It is always such a proud moment when we get to see the end of the journey of students that have been at BIS, and so many of them since their time in Primary as well. Good luck, Year 13. We wish you all the very best and can’t wait to see what you achieve next.
Kind regards
Rebecca Carroll
