Key Dates | Primary Learning Highlight
Dear Parents,
The day finally arrived. After almost a year in virtual school, being able to finally welcome all the Primary Students back to campus has made this the best week of the year so far! What a wonderful moment to be standing at the gate and welcoming the students back to class. It was hard to know who was more excited. Were the teachers, students, or parents?
While inevitably, there were a few anxious moments, it has been fantastic to see all our students settle back into face-to-face teaching and become chattier and more confident as the week has progressed. Teachers and teaching assistants have been so proud of how the students have transitioned back into learning in school. This week’s learning and activities have focused on the students' getting to know each other, their teachers, and the classroom routines.
It has been a pleasure to hear the chattering in the corridors, the laughter in the playground and the students singing in their classrooms during music lessons again after such a long time, and we can’t wait to see how they continue to progress through the term.
We would like to say a big thank you to our parents for your patience and support with the start and end of day procedures. The first week back always presents a few challenges, but we have continued to review and refine our systems to ensure things run more smoothly with our new ID card system.
Our spotlight on learning returns this week, with Year 3 sharing their learning from the past week. I hope you enjoy this first showcase of learning since returning face to face.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

As the academic year whirls by, the first term in primary school draws to a close, marking the end of a whirlwind of learning, growth, and new experiences.
As we move towards the end of term, our Primary exit points are always a great celebration of learning that has taken place over previous weeks and months.
At BIS, in addition to the excellent opportunities we are providing in the classroom, we enrich the students experiences and learning by taking them on day trips.
