Key Dates | Borrowing Library Books | Primary Learning Highlights
Dear Parents,
A big thank you to everyone who has donated to the Great Tet Race this week.
Ms. Mi and Ms. Hong from our TA Team were out in Hanoi at three locations yesterday collecting donations from BIS families. It has been wonderful to see the generosity from families in our community who have contributed to this charity event. The students (and staff) have been extremely competitive and focused in clocking up the kilometres over the last two weeks to earn house points for the team as well. Let’s hope we have a big push over the weekend and early next week before the Tet holiday!
I also wanted to update you on where some of our charity money from last year went. During Term 3 last academic year, the BIS Staff took part in a charity Virtual Run from Hanoi to HCMC. Over 100 teachers, admin and support staff, walked collectively over 7000km in 4 weeks and raised over 30million VND for local charities. This week some of the money raised went into Lucky money envelopes for children at the Vietnam National Institute of Burns through Heart to Heart charity group. We all wish them the best of luck in the year of the Tiger, good health and speedy recovery. It always makes me feel so proud to see the wonderful efforts that our community achieves to help others.
This week, we have a Spotlight on Year 4 who are showcasing their learning. I hope you enjoy just a few of the highlights.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

Between now and Monday, 24th January, students can request up to 4 library books to be prepared for them to borrow over the Tet break.
The books will be available in the main BIS Guard House. The student’s name will be on a paper on the books.
PLEASE DO NOT PUT BOOKS ON HOLD IF YOU/YOUR PARENT CANNOT COLLECT BEFORE TET
But how do you request books?
Here is a screencast showing exactly what you need to do.

Year 4 returned to Term 2 with overwhemingly replenished energy. On their Entry Point day for the new topic ‘Inventions that Changed the World’, they designed, created and tested their own flying machines. It was a fun and exciting challenge for the students, and they all thoroughly enjoyed their time spent on their activity.
