We have recently completed our Primary Sports Days here at BCB in which over 400 students across two campuses and nine-year groups competed for the coveted House trophy.
All students who participated represented their house (Saxons, Normans, Romans & Vikings) and fought for every single point in order to make a difference in the grand total. Students were encouraged to support, be competitive, resilient, & determined, to show sportsmanship and good attitudes regardless of the outcome, and to give it their best effort possible across a mixture of events. EYFS and KS1 spent a morning and an afternoon respectively taking part in a mixture of running, throwing & jumping games. KS2 students traveled to SPAC and spent the day participating in track events (100m/400m/800m) & Field events (Shot Put/Javelin/Discus/Relays/Long jump). Our winning house for 2019 was the VIKINGS who set a number of school records as they swept to victory. Individual track records have been recorded for KS2 to add an extra incentive for them to give it their all, and these will remain on the BCB walls until, or if, another student is able to better the score.
