In October, our High School celebrated Black History Month with a variety of engaging events and activities for students. One highlight was the album cover project organised by our Art Department, where students showcased their creativity by designing CD covers for Black musicians.
As a result of this competition, the top 12 Key Stage 3 (Year 7 to Year 9) students have been invited to the Gustav Klimt immersive exhibition at Emsphere.
In addition, we hosted a “Celebration of Black Arts” event during break time, where students from Year 8 and Year 12 led informative sessions on the history of music, dance, and television. This lively gathering also featured a hip-hop performance from our Dance Department.
The month concluded with our Year 12 students presenting the first Afrobeats dance performance on International Day as part of their CAS project, Heritage and Hope. These students are committed to raising awareness about Black History Month throughout the year by creating resources and leading events within our school community. Their motivation and dedication truly reflect the core values of our inclusive St Andrews Bangkok community.
