The final IGCSE/GCSE grades for last year's Year 11 students have finally arrived. The fantastic results highlight how well our students performed in these international examinations from the UK. After following a two-year course laid out by the exam boards from the UK, students sit up to three exams at the end of each course in Year 11. The final grades that 43% of students received were A* / A grades, with 84 % of our students getting 5 higher grade passes. This is a really great achievement, made even more remarkable by the fact that we are a non-selective school. These results demonstrate something all of us at St Andrews have always believed - that if you give young people opportunities, they can really perform very well no matter the challenges they may face.
Saturday night’s Graduation of the Class of 2023 was a lovely evening, celebrating the end of their St Andrews journey for 100 Year 13 students, along with their families and their teachers.
I am headed to New York City to study photography. It's very exciting and only slightly terrifying but I am sad to be moving on from St Andrews.
I am planning to go to Boston University for university, and there I hope to continue my passion in sports and academics.
