Welcome back to school, one and all!
I hope this message finds you well and full of excitement about the start of a brand new academic year. It was great to see our school buzzing with life once again as students, with faces both familiar and new, filling the hallways, classrooms, playgrounds, and learning spaces. The energy and excitement are palpable as we embark on another year of learning, growth, and community building.
A warm and wholehearted welcome to all the new families who have joined our school community. We understand that starting a new school can be both exciting, as well as a little nerve-wracking. Please know that we are committed to ensuring a smooth transition for your children. Our dedicated Family Support Teams are willing and ready to address any concerns and assist in making the adjustment process as easy as possible.
There has been a really fantastic group of new teachers, teacher assistants, learning support assistants and science technicians joining our school this year. They have been collaborating with their colleagues for over a week to prepare for the return of our students. Their dedication and enthusiasm will undoubtedly contribute to reinvigorating and providing fresh perspectives on the excellent learning areas available across the school.
Over the summer break, we have been hard at work enhancing our learning environment. From the new walkway offering a convenient entrance to our Primary School to the revitalised High School garden designed to provide a tranquil space for nature enthusiasts, we're excited to provide our students with even more engaging spaces to learn and grow.
Our commitment to sustainability continues to flourish with the waterway and sustainable garden area in the Primary School. The rejuvenated waterways now host a variety of aquatic life, and the efforts of our student eco group, led by Mr. Ewen, has brought about a rich ecosystem for students to observe, explore and study. There is a great poster to be seen on several walls at Primary outlining the ecosystem and an array of wildlife waiting to be discovered.
We invite you to our “Meet the Teacher” meetings at both High School and Primary School. These sessions offer an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with your child's class teacher in Primary or tutor in High School. These meetings will provide insights into this year's curriculum and extracurricular activities and allow you to raise any questions you may have about the start of the new school year.
Our school’s Parent Teacher Group (PTG) plays a vital role in our school community. The PTG Annual General Meeting will be held on Friday 8th September at the Jo Adamson Theatre located at the High School campus on the 7th floor of the Blue Building. Come early for some coffee at 8.00 am and then join the meeting which will start at 8.30am. This meeting will shed light on the remarkable work done by the PTG last year and offer a chance for you to become part of this dynamic group.
We also invite you to our new parents' Coffee Mornings, another wonderful way to connect with fellow parents and learn about the PTG's initiatives. These will be held as follows:
Primary School PTG Coffee Morning on Wednesday 23rd August at 8.30 am, Primary School Sports Hall
High School PTG Coffee Morning on Friday 1st September at 8.30 am at the Jo Adamson Theatre, High School Campus
