Meet the Teacher | Ms Marianna

Ms Marianna, our new dance teacher, is joining us in the upcoming 2023/2024 academic year from Nord Anglia School Foshan, China. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, and is currently working on her Master's Degree in Education.


Your education and other work experience(s)

I majored at the Hungarian Dance University in 2012 as a Dancer and Rehearsal coach. My first teaching job was in Spain, where I have been living for over 6 years. In 2019 I decided to move to China to learn more about Asian cultures, meanwhile, I earned my PGCE online from the University of Essex. Currently, I am studying for my Master in Education and I am looking forward to working at St. Andrews International School Bangkok to learn more about culture and face new challenges.

Who do you admire and why?

I admire everyone who doesn't afraid of failure because that's the way to success.

What areas of research/topics continue to capture your attention in your field and why?

I am interested to learn more about movement and dance therapy, as dance is a unique way to support social-emotional development and it’s also used therapeutically.

What hobbies do you have and what do you love about them? And what are your other interests?
Dancing, I love that my passion is my job. Cooking, I like to experiment with food. Fitness, I like the challenge and personal growth that comes with it. Learning languages, I enjoy communicating with new people.

Currently, my favourite thing is to learn about fitness and nutrition, because it is very fascinating how the body can change with external impulses or alimentation.

What do you feel most passionately about and why?

Learning about education and how to implement different strategies in different cultures and classes. I am passionate about helping students to get out of their comfort zone and increase their confidence.
