How has St Andrews prepared you for university?
My University counselor, Ms Alyssa, has been a huge help for me in my university application journey. She has helped me stay on top of everything that I needed to get done and she really listened to me and took everything I said into consideration. From helping proofread, to helping me figure out my doubts in the application process my university counselor was really there for me and made me understand that this was my future, and I had to take initiative in order to have the outcomes that I wanted. With how seriously our school takes university applications it is unlikely that your outcomes are unfavorable.
What have you learned from Senior Studies?
It is a truly grueling process but having most people around you go through the same thing helps. I have learned that it is crucial to reach out for help in your school life from peers, family members or even teachers so you don’t feel helpless and lonely. Just talking to someone trustworthy about any problem can make a world of a difference.
Your plans for university or after graduation?
Relax for a bit, settle down into my new home and work hard.
Favourite memory from STA?

Any advice for students going into IB or Year 12s?
Don’t stress yourself out.Try finishing things on time.
Saturday night’s Graduation of the Class of 2023 was a lovely evening, celebrating the end of their St Andrews journey for 100 Year 13 students, along with their families and their teachers.
My university plans for after graduation consist of studying Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics (PPLE) at the University of Amsterdam. To receive this offer, I had to get through several rounds of admissions such as an essay, a financial and study plan, a test and an interview, which results in only 200 applicants being selected amongst the thousands of applications.
This week's Senior Highlight, where we highlight graduates from the Class of 2023, is on Preme.
Find out more about Preme's bucket list before she attends Imperial College London to study biochemistry and her Senior Studies journey.
Venesa is planning to pursue her studies in Neuropsychology BSc. She has received offers from the University of Toronto, University British Columbia, Queens Mary University London, University of Nottingham, University of Bath, Kingston University London, and the University of Manchester.
