On Friday and today we held five Awards Assemblies, for Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 - current Year 11 students will have their Awards Assembly at the beginning of next term. In these Assemblies we presented a range of different Awards to celebrate so many of the students’ achievements this year:
One student in each Tutor Group, who has best demonstrated all the qualities described in our What Makes a Great St Andrew Community? document, was awarded our Great St Andrews Community Award
One student in each subject in each Year Group was awarded our Merit Award, awarded in each subject to the student in each Year who has made the most progress across the year.
One student in each subject in each Year Group was awarded our Academic Award, awarded in each subject to the student in each Year with the best academic record across the year.
A small number of students with consistently Outstanding Effort Grades in all of their subjects across the year were awarded our Outstanding Effort Awards.
One student in each Key Stage, who has made the most significant contribution to that area outside the classroom, was awarded our Art, Dance, Drama and Music Special Awards.
There are also three additional awards for Year 12 students:
CAS and Extended Essay Special Awards were each awarded to a student from Year 12 who has excelled in these areas throughout the year.
A small number of students who have demonstrated the highest academic achievement were awarded the Honour Roll Award.
As I said in each of the Awards Assemblies, to be presented with any of these Awards is a great honour, and I was very pleased to see that, altogether, almost 300 different High School students have received at least one of these Awards.
All of our Awards Assemblies were livestreamed, and they are still available to watch again, and to share the link with families etc., via the Awards Assemblies landing page
During each Assembly, we also showed Mr Andrew’s video of the highlights of the school year. While last year’s Awards Assemblies were a very special occasion as they were the first time for a long time that we had been able to get whole Year Groups together, this year’s are the end to a fantastic year in the High School, with a full year of all the events that make St Andrews such a great community.
Eloise reflects on her experiences representing St Andrews International School at the annual Remembrance Day service hosted by the British Club in Bangkok. She expresses her deep gratitude for honouring the sacrifices of fallen soldiers and the pride she feels in continuing a family tradition while representing her school and community. Eloise emphasises the importance of this meaningful event in fostering remembrance and appreciation.
Students at St Andrews International School Bangkok have begun an exciting artificial intelligence project: integrating Nord Anglia’s “Misty the Robot” with conversational AI model, ChatGPT. Under the guidance of our Head of Robotics, Mr Rob Parker, they recently presented their results to Regional Managing Director, Mr Shaun Williams, as well as the Board of Directors at St Andrews, with the proposition of growing this project as a collaborative research venture across Nord Anglia schools.
