This concert is a showcase for all of the amazing musical talent in Key Stage 3 (Year 7 to Year 9). The students have been working tirelessly since the beginning of Term 2 in their curriculum lessons and music ECAs to bring you these varied performances. In their curriculum music lessons, they have been studying the music of Africa, Samba music from Brazil as well as Gaming music. The large year group performances you will hear are very much linked to these projects.

The students have shown great commitment in their music ECAs and you are sure to hear the sparkling musicianship of their performances. Also included are many small group ensembles, duets and solos which the students have taken the initiative to create themselves, showing the pure joy of making music together.

5 Vocal Solo by Pim Windows - composed by Pim
This song is about wanting to do so many things but being held back by our own fears. It feels like looking out the windows and seeing the vibrancy that life has to offer but choosing to remain inside, stuck. I wanted to convey the discomfort and frustration but also the desire, and its power to be the deciding factor on whether we quit or keep going. I wrote this song when I felt scared, but whenever I play it, I feel brave, because with each word I sing, the character in the song runs further and further away from where they were once confined.
6 Piano Solo by Pan Pan Prelude 1 - composed by Pan Pan
Pan Pan has taken his inspiration from Chopin in this Prelude for solo piano. The simple yet melodic right hand melody really gives a sense of melancholy. Flowing notes in the accompaniment allow the piece to flow.
