The Primary and Foundations stages at STA embraced book character day last Friday by putting in a huge effort to create amazing costumes to share with their friends.
We had so many Harry Potters running around I thought at one point I was in Hogwarts! There were many superheroes, princesses, Mr Men and classic fiction characters as the school truly embraced the day and brought so much needed joy into our lives. It was great to see so much effort put into the day by the teachers also, there were some very interesting costumes indeed! Thank you to all the parents that worked hard to help create costumes for the students to wear for the special day.

Ms Pepa continued to work with classes throughout the week, sharing her wonderful books and creating some beautiful pieces of art. The students learnt so much from her about art creation and storytelling and had so much fun! The enthusiasm she brought to the projects will hopefully inspire our students to read more and even have a go at creating their own books and illustrations.
The Foundation Stage 3 teachers even acted out a story to their classes after the book character parade. What a talented bunch!!
Thank you Ms Pepa for working so hard to make the week a memorable experience for all the students across the School.
Book Week also saw the school invite another author from our community. Ms Nawal Kalra, one of our parents, was invited to show the Foundation Stage her wonderful books. She also came with an illustrator Ms Jeevna Kaur to share their books and do some workshops with the students. After reading her book, ‘Not the Only Bear’, Foundation Stage 2 students had to think of features and characteristics of their own bears and start thinking about their own stories. The Foundation Stage 3 students had to come up with other animals and features to create stories also. There was some really great creative thinking by the students.
Thank you to Ms Nawal for her great efforts to entice the students.
Also, a big thank you goes out to Ms Leanne our English coordinator who organised the week and brought all the fantastic competitions, workshops and parades together so the students could have such a wonderful experience.
Year 1 enjoyed an experience at Benjasiri Park last week. The main focus was to look at the sculptures that you can see around the park and study them to inspire their own creativity. The students went on their sculpture trail after looking at the map and working out where they needed to go. The teachers then led them around the park where they were able to take photos of all the different sculptures. It was so good to see a year group go out on a trip again, something that we haven’t been able to do for quite some time! Next week the Year 2s will go to SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World.
