This half term, we have lots to look forward to! Picking up where the last half term left off, everyone will jump right back into their Extra-Curricular Activities before school, after school, and even on weekends. Also, our annual Book Week will launch across the whole school beginning on Monday 28th February. Learn more below.
Welcome back to the second half of Term 2. It was fantastic to finish the last half-term with a thoroughly enjoyable International Day at High School, along with the celebration of Maths Day at our Primary School.
The High School International Day featured some brilliant performances during breaktime with an array of musical and dance activities by our immensely talented student body. The Flag Parade exemplified the multitude of nationalities we have at St Andrews. It was great to see everyone appreciating all the culturally significant performances and the diversity at our school.
Maths Day in Primary School was equally entertaining with some fantastic T-shirts designs worn by each year group. The celebration offered lots of intense, yet enjoyable Maths challenges to make the whole experience thought-provoking and educational for every age.
A huge thank you to everyone, especially the staff and our students, for creating these truly memorable days to finish the last half term.
Today it was great to welcome back so many students to school. Thank you for everyone undertaking their ATK testing and following all the protocols reporting results through our health app. It is vital we all remain vigilant in keeping our school community as COVID free as possible, especially with the highly contagious Omicron variant making its way through various Bangkok communities.
This half term we have lots to look forward to! Picking up where the last half term left off, everyone will jump right back into their Extra-Curricular Activities before school, after school, and even on weekends. Our annual Book Week will launch across the whole school beginning on Monday 28th February, building up to the extremely popular Book Character Day on the final day, Friday 4th March, where everyone comes to school dressed up as their favourite book characters.
In regards to competitions, we will continue to cooperate with other international schools to ensure that all our sports teams can start to participate in tournaments and fixtures. Properly planned events such as these will be great opportunities for all our young athletes and teams to develop their skills and talents while representing our school.
We look forward with great anticipation to all these events and more to grow and strengthen the bonds within our school community throughout the rest of this term through to our Songkran Celebration on the last day of Term 2.
We are currently coordinating vaccination opportunities for 5 to 11-year-old children (paediatric dose of 10 mcg - Pfizer orange cap). On Sunday 7th February, children with certified underlying health conditions were able to get their vaccination at Medpark Hospital.
The remaining vaccine rollout is planned by age group. We have already emailed parents of Year 7 students who consented to being contacted should they wish for their child to take advantage of a vaccination opportunity this Saturday 26th February. We will continue to contact the next group of students who are eligible for this vaccination. We have not yet received confirmation on when to expect the younger age groups to have their opportunity but we expect it will be within the next few weeks.
As some families have managed to receive a vaccination for their child directly through their home hospitals, we kindly ask you to update your child’s vaccination status via the Health App so that another student might make use of any upcoming allocation. We thank you for your cooperation.
Over the last few weeks more cars have been parking in Soi 20 and several of the families living in this area have complained that their drives have been blocked by cars. The only families using the gate on Soi 20 should be those who come to school on the shuttle bus or live in the area of Soi 20. Please do not park on these streets as the local police have been informed and will be wheel locking cars found parked in this area.
Thank you for your support and cooperation with this matter.
