This week, we have the Christmas Lunch, Fair and non-uniform day to look forward to, as Term 1 comes to an end.
As we approach the end of term, I would like to thank you all again for your continued cooperation as we all work together to keep our community safe.
Our twice-weekly ATK tests are a big part of this, as they have ensured that we are aware of any cases in our community as soon as possible, so we are able to take precautionary measures while we wait for confirmation from PCR tests.
We have provided all families with ATK tests since students returned to school, and provided all students with another seven ATK tests - enough for the rest of this term and the first day of Term 2 - recently. Last week we shared details of a Group Purchase scheme that allows our families to purchase the same ATK tests that we use at a reduced price, with sets of 10 HIP Biotech Nasal Swab Antigen Test Kits on sale for only 550 Baht. This is enough tests to last through to the February half-term. If you would like to purchase these Antigen Test Kits, which would be delivered to your son/daughter on the first day of next term, please place your order via Moodle.
NAE Parents Satisfaction Survey
Last week, you will also have received an email from Mr Paul about this year’s NAE Parents Satisfaction Survey.
We run this survey at this time every year when we are starting to plan school developments for the next academic year. The survey covers all the key areas of the school including the learning environment and teaching we provide, the way in which we support your child’s social development, our range of facilities and the way in which we communicate with our families.
We would very much like you to complete this survey, using the link in Mr Paul’s email, as your feedback helps us to provide the best possible experiences for your child. The survey is designed to capture feedback on a per-family basis, but if both parents take the survey this is also fine. Please note that parents need to complete the survey in one sitting.
We are now into the last week of this term, with some exciting Christmas events in the High School to end the term, beginning with the STA Christmas Karaoke.
On Wednesday, we will have a special Christmas menu in the Canteen, followed by our annual Christmas Fair on Thursday 9th December. For physical-distancing reasons, this year’s Christmas Fair will be run completely by our students, for our students.
Friday is a Christmas Themed Non-Uniform Day, and the term will end with a live stream of STA presents… "Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas". This “selection box of Music, Dance and Drama” will be live-streamed to Tutor Groups around the school, students on the VSE and families, whether they are in Bangkok or around the world, from 11:00.
Lunch will be available from 12:00 until 12:30, with School Buses leaving the High School at 12:15. Then it is a four week Christmas holiday!
I would like to thank all of the students and teachers for all of their hard work throughout the term, both throughout the period of VSE and during the last six weeks when we have all been back in school together. I would also like to thank you all, our parents, for all of your support throughout the term.
On Friday we will say goodbye to those students and teachers who are leaving St Andrews at the end of this term. I would like to wish all those students, and their families, who are leaving the school this week all the best for the future, and say a special thank you to those teachers who will be leaving us. Thank you very much for everything that you have done, and good luck for the future, to Mr Barry, Mr Brett, Mr Henry, Mr Oscar and Mr Stu.
I hope that you all have a safe, relaxing and enjoyable holiday - See you in 2022!
Mr Roo
Head of High School
