Busking Week a Real Success
Busking week has been a fantastic opportunity for our students and teachers to show their talents and raise some funds for our House charities. Monday and Friday saw acts in different areas around the school performing everything from break dancing to the cup song! Each morning and break time has seen the Y6 quad host singers and dancers to an entertained audience. It was wonderful to see some of our High School students come and join our Primary students to perform a powerful song. Funds raised by the event have been over 20,000 Baht. What a fantastic result!

Swimming in FS3

The FS3 children look forward to Fridays as it is our swimming day! I am very pleased with their confidence and enthusiasm in the pool. In FS3 we focus on gaining confidence when moving through the water, submerging, blowing bubbles and kicking. These skills are developed during fun and playful activities. Towards the end of Term 3 we will start swimming in the big pool to ease our transition to Y1 where they will swim every week in the big pool. Well done FS3.

Year 3 Greek Day

Last Friday, the Year 3 pupils concluded their topic on Ancient Greece by having a Greek Day. It was wonderful to see the children dressed up as Greek Gods and Goddesses, spartans, soldiers and other mythical creatures from the Greek myths we have been studying in class. As we were also celebrating World Autism Awareness Day, many of the children creatively included a 'splash of blue' in their costumes to celebrate this special day.

The day began with the children performing 'Living it up in Greece', a song they have been learning in their Singing lessons with Mrs Marie. Despite the soaring temperatures, the children sang wonderfully and drew a small crowd of teachers and other pupils in the Year 6 Quad. Then the fun began…

Splitting the year group into two groups, the children completed two activities - an Olympic style games event in the Red Room, working collaboratively to earn points for their assigned Greek city state - Athens, Sparta or Corinth; and food making and preparing. The children enjoyed making a Greek salad before eating it with some pitta bread and hummus. A wonderful end to our Term 2 topic.

A huge thanks to K.Top, Mrs Marie and the Estates team for their help in organising such a fun day and most importantly, a MASSIVE well done to all the Year 3 children for showing resilience and creativity in their learning throughout our topic.

Autism Awareness Day

Thank you so much for supporting this event and celebrating difference, diversity and inclusion. Thank you for educating our students, and the wider school community, about how people with Autism face challenges and adversity each and every day, and that together we can make a difference through the power of understanding and acceptance.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the hard-working STARS and Learning Support teams for their relentless efforts to support students with Autism in our school. These children need people like you and the success of your efforts is evident in their smiles and in the progress they make here at STA for a brighter future.

Thanks again for opening your hearts and minds this week. Looking forward to lighting it up blue again next year.
